Ocean Voices first ever youth collective meeting

On Thursday, September 29th, I had the pleasure of joining a group of amazing, engaged students from across the Northern Rivers at the Ingrained Foundation for the very first Ocean Voices Youth Collective meeting. The atmosphere was electric with excitement as we gathered around a table overflowing (maybe not overflowing) with delicious treats from Sunday Sustainable Bakery.

As we munched on pastries we dived into lively discussions about what makes us fired up and what fills us with pride about our world. The ideas were flying fast and furious—some of which were new and eye-opening to me. At that moment, surrounded by passionate, like-minded people, I felt a surge of optimism and belief that together, we really can change the world. And guess what? We totally can!

The main focus of our discussion was planning our next Ocean Voices event, which offers the Youth Collective a platform to present speeches and slideshows about topics they’re passionate about. This is our chance to show just how powerful the youth voice can be in driving change. The event hosted on Tuesday 19th of November will be the way to inspire other young people to be apart of the Youth Collective.

Just wait and see what the young peeps can achieve when we connect regularly. Its going to be awesome.

The Ocean Voices Youth Collective will now be meeting every month at the Ingrained Foundation. If you would like to be apart email me at Monet@oceanvoices.com.au.
