Hi, I am Monet and I am in year 11 at Mullumbimby High School. I have been lucky enough to live in the Northern Rivers for the past 15 years. In this time I have built a strong connection with my local community.

I have been volunteering at my local radio station, BayFM, for the past 2 years. I helped create, produce and record the Young Legend 2022 three part flood podcast with the Byron Bay Youth Service. I have also been a host on multiple radio shows throughout the past year, playing interviews from local members in the community as well as being interviewed myself about my own speeches.

Being a part of our incredible community assisted in my growing passion for the Ocean. I am excited to be an Ocean Voices Young Ocean Leader and can’t wait to make work engaging youth to create solutions to defend the ocean and its marine life. And to have our voice heard in our community and out into the world.
